Biography

Frank Bleechmore was born in the Colony of South Australia (1836-1900)

Frank was born in 1866. He was the son of Charles Bleechmore and Sarah White. ^[1]

He married Maria Ellen Hughes on 3 October 1889 at the residence of Henry Hughes, Kensington. ^[2]

He passed away in 1939 in Rose Park, South Australia ^[3] and was buried in Mitcham General Cemetery. ^{[4] [5]}

Mr. F. S. Bleechmore
Mr. Frank Sidney Bleechmore, who died at his home at Watson avenue, Rose Park, on Saturday, aged 72, was well-known both in banking and in rifle shooting circles. He was born at Adelaide, receiving his education at the school at Norwood of the late Mr. Thomas Caterer, and on leaving school in 1881 he joined the staff of the Savings Bank of South Australia as a cadet. He went from grade to grade during his long service of 53 years, holding the office of chief clerk when he retired in 1934. Mr. Bleechmore was keenly interested in rifle shooting, and visited England in 1928 as adjutant manager of the Australian rifle team which competed at Bisley. He was also for many years secretary of the South Australian National Rifle Association, in addition, he was a keen bowler. His widow, Mrs. Ellen Bleechmore, and three children — Reginald Bleechmore, of Queensland, Miss Dorothy Bleechmore, of Rose Park, and Mrs. Edna Wright, of Fulham — survive him. One son, Eric, was killed at the war.^[6]
