• 1860: Henry, age 16, is living with his parents & 6 siblings on a farm. He is attending school.^[1]
• 1870: Henry, age 20, was born in Prussia and is a shoemaker. With him is his wife, Catherine, age 19, and son, Wilhelm P. born in April in Wisconsin. Their home is next to that of his parents, John & Anna. ^[2]
• 1880: Henry, age 36, is a married shoemaker. Living with him are his wife, Katherina, age 20; son William, age 10, in school; daughter Amalia, age 8, in school; daughter Mary, age 6 listed as maimed/crippled/bedridden, etc.; daughters Anna, age 4, and Elisabetta, age 2; and son Adolph Ed, 1 month, born in May.^[3]
• 1920: Henry, age 76, owns his farm, states he immigrated in 1845, was naturalized in 1896, was born in Colbes Germany. Living with him are his wife Kate, age 69; son Ben, age 33 single and farm laborer; hired man John Wagner, and his wife and daughter; servant Lena Neu.^[4]

He died in 1923 and is buried in St. Norbert's Cemetery in Roxbury, WI.^[5]
