Revett, son of Thomas Bland & Emma Bland, was baptised on 6 February 1811 in Newark, St. Mary Magdalene, Nottinghamshire, England.[1]
Revett was eighteen years old when he came to Western Australia on the Marquis of Anglesea, arriving on 23 August 1829.[2]
He was granted land in York, where he was in Government Service. Revett became a Justice of the Peace in 1839 and was the Government Resident in York in 1842, and later in Albany 1846-8.[2]
He married Emily Sultzer on 28 March 1838 in Guildford.[3] They did not have children.
Emily died in 1845 in Perth and Revett subsequently married Martha Hinds (widow - nee McCallum) in Perth.[4]

Married.—At St. George's Church, Perth, on Tues-day, the 26th instant, by the Right Rev. the Lord Bishop of Adelaide, R. H. BLAND, Esq., Clerk of the Councils and Private Secretary to His Excellency, to MARTHA EMMA, relict of the late R. B. HINDS, Esq., Surgeon, R.N., and daughter of Colonel McCallum, Royal Marines.[5]
Revett moved to Perth in 1848 where he was Clerk to the Legislative Council and Acting Colonial Secretary in 1850. He was granted leave of absence, returning to Australia in 1853, calling in Albany on his way to take up appointment as resident Manager of Banking and Gold Purchasing Co. in Victoria.[2]
