Susan was born about 1844.
Susan M. Blackford was the daughter of Mahlon Harvey and Sarah (Underwood) Blackford. She married John D. Arnold January 2, 1863 in Shelbyville, Shelby County, Indiana. They had five children: Clement, Charles, Troy, Maud and George.

Mrs. Susan M. Arnold of Augusta township died at her home here August 29th, of dropsy and heart disease.
She passed away in 1898.
