Biography

Mrs. ALICE BLACKFORD HUTZELL, a former principal at Keedysville School, died Sunday at Fahrney Keedy Home. She was the daughter of William F. and Emma Grove Blackford, Sharpsburg, and the widow of Frank Leslie Hutzell, Boonsboro.

She was a member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist, a teacher in Washington County schools and was principal of Keedysville School when she retired in 1960. She was active in polictics in Washington County, having served as president of the Democratic Club. She was one of the organizers and active supporters ofthe Hagerstown Girls Club and for many years was one of its activity directors.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. H. McKee Price, LaVale; sister, Miss F. Pauline Blackford, Baltimore; one grandchild and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Norment Funeral Home; burial was in Mountain View Cemetery, Sharpsburg.
