Birth 14th of August, 2010 in Pacheco, Mexico
Working for thirty-four years for Metropolitan life Insurance Company and later for Salt Lake County, Orin was a LDS bishop twice and a stake patriarch for twenty-seven years. He and his wife served a South Carolina Colombia Mission. He particularly loved working with young men in the priesthood, always teaching principles of hard work, honesty, integrity and generosity. An avid sports fan as both a participant and spectator, he treasured his education at Jordan High School and Brigham Young University.
A champion cowboy with a great love for horses, Orin raised a large vegetable garden and freely shared his produces. Born in Pacheco, Mexico to Morley Larsen Black and Lydia Ellen Porter, Orin married Vanice Beck on June 16, 1936 in the Salt Lake Temple. Preceding him in death, on June 27, 2001, he provided constant loving care during Vanice long illness.
