Bisson-327 and Bisson-284 appear to represent the same person because: same man, Bisson-284 loose profile, retaint all data from Bisson-327, which has proper sources.

See current Note 7. for Gervais Bisson, fils? "Tanguay, vol. 1, p. 54: René-Gervais Bisson". ABA use of René-Gervais likely dates from then.

Ex: This web site uses the name Rene-Gervais and is probably the major source of this error. They can not even provide the proof that he went by this name. Rickie

Please note that Gervais (Bisson-16) and Rene Gervais (Bisson-10) are the same person. In all my research on the Bissons of this era, I have found no documentation, proving he had the name "Rene" or even went by this name. For me the name "Rene" has been used to difference the father from the son. From my research, the best way to difference the two is: Gervais Bisson dit St. Cosme (may also be found as "Buisson") and the son just as Gervais Bisson (may also be found as "Buisson"). By chance if anyone has proof that he had and used this name I would greatly appreciate it if you would forward it to me. Thanks in advance.
