Lottie, daughter of Charles Bishop and Cynthia Davison,[1] was born 30 January 1839 in Montville, Connecticut.[2][3] She grew up in New London, Connecticut, where her father was a house builder.[4] In 1850, she was part of a large household, which included her parents Charles (age 36) and Cynthia Bishop (35); Charlotte E. After their marriage the couple continued to live with Lottie's parents. In 1860 the family home, valued at $10,000, was composed of Charles (age 47) and Cynthia Bishop (46); Lottie's siblings Herbert M. (16), Charles (13), Adam F. (9) and George G. (10), Mary (8, this is actually Tracy), Martin (5) and a servant from Maine.[15]
