Research Notes

Have Jacob's will. An elderly man (in his 60s) is living with Jacob and Elizabeth in 1830. This may be Jacob's father, Christopher. (Elizabeth's father is still in Warren Co.) Ayres indicates Jacob was buried in Olive Branch cemetery in Hillsboro in December, 1864. However, his grave was found in Hillsboro Cemetery. An article in the Hillsboro Press-Gazette on 7 May 1965 indicates that Jacob may have owned a mill and ice house“about 50 yards or so down Rocky Ford Creek from the private bridge. Nothing remains but a few scattered timbers, but it is thought that Jacob owned the area of the Girl Scout camp there at one time.
