Biography

George Ernest Birrell was born on 1 January 1870 in Gisborne, Victoria, Australia, son of Amelia Ann (Kenworthy) Birrell and Richard Birrell.^[1]

He married Harriet Edith Ball in 1906 in Kyneton, Victoria.^[2] Their children were:

• John Rupert Birrell (1907–1941)^[3]
• Alice Edith Birrell (1911–1984)^[4]
• Doris Eileen Birrell (1914–1914)^[5]
• Arthur Ernest Birrell (1918–1989)^[6]

George died on 16 May 1938 in Kyneton, aged 68 years.^[7] His remains were buried in May 1938 in Kyneton.^{[citation needed]}
