Rebecca was born in 1813 in Setmabanning, Threlkeld, Cumberland, England to John Birkett and Mary Skelton. [1] She was christened on 9 December 1813 at St John's in the Vale. [2]
In 1841 Rebecca was with her father and younger siblings at Birkett-mire in Crosthwaite, Cumberland, England. [3]
Rebecca married William Spark on 21 May 1843 in Threlkeld, Cumberland, England. [4]
Rebecca and William christened a son John in Threlkeld in 1843 and a son Daniel in Shap in 1845.
The Spark family were in Liverpool in 1851 before emigrating. [5]
Rebecca, her husband, and their children travelled from Liverpool to New York on the Tam O'shanter, they arrived on April 28 1851.
Rebecca and her family travelled from New York to Shelby County, Illinois where her brother Skelton lived.
Rebecca died on 14 November 1853 in Illinois. She was buried in Shelby County, Illinois in Henderson Cemetery: Aged 39 years and 7 months. Wife of William Spark. [6]
