Allan Osland Bilson was born on 18th February 1899 in Allansford, in Victoria's Western District (Australia). He was the second son of Franklyn Bilson and Fanny Draper. [1] The family soon after moved to Colac, also in the Western District.
Allan served in the Royal Air Force during the First World War. [2]
Allan married Constance Rankin in 1925 in Victoria. [3]
On 4th May 1942 he was commissioned into the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) for service during the Second World War. His final posting was to No.1 Embarkation Depot and he was demobilised on 19th December 1944. [4] He was issued the 1939-1945 Star, Defence Medal, War Medal 1939-1945 and Australia Service Medal 1939-1945.
Aged 82 years, he passed away in 1981 at Windsor, Victoria. [5] He was survived by Constance.
