Biography

Albert Augustus BESANKO was born on 13 August 1875 in Goodwood, Colony of South Australia[1]. He was the son of Benjamin BESANKO and Loveday MOYLE.

Jane Lee CLARK and Albert Augustus BESANKO were married 21 November 1908 at the Manse, Pirie St, Adelaide, South Australia, Australia[2].

BESANKO —CLARK. —On the 21st November, at the Methodist Manse, Pirie street, by the Rev. Henry Howard, Albert Augustus, fourth son of B. Besanko, Hyde Park, to Jane Lee (Jean), third daughter of William Clark, Angas-street, Adelaide.

Mr Albert A. Besanko, who died suddenly on June 26, was the fifth son of the late Mr and Mrs B. Besanko, of Hyde Park, where he was born in 1875. He was engaged in mining at Broken Hill, Wallaroo, and South Africa. Upon his return to Adelaide, he entered into the building trade, erecting many houses in Hyde Park and Unley district. He owned the furniture business known as Besanko and Birrell, Goodwood road, Millswood. For many years he was president of the King's Park branch of the Liberal Federation and he was a former president of the Millswood Bowling Club and a member of the Sturt Bowling Cub. He has left a widow, one son, Mr Max Besanko, four daughters—Misses E. A. and J. Besanko. and Mrs R. Germein, of Yorke's Peninsula. Mr John Besanko of Wallaroo Mine and Mr Cyril Besanko, of Sydney, are brothers. Mrs Pickering, of Fullarton, Mrs Hinton, of Reade Park, and Mrs Mahony, of Glenelg, are sisters. There is one grandson.
