Under the private view (not available to most because he is still living), it reads correctly as "Jorge Mario (Pope Francis) Bergoglio". However, the public view shows "Pope Francis M. Bergoglio". I'm not sure why these are different. However, as project manager for the "Popes Project" I've standardised the way all the popes' profiles are with the papal name in the Preferred Name field, as per the guidelines from the Notables project.

Any chance that this issue be corrected in the near future? Him being one of the 2 most famous Argentinians alive, it's a bit annoying. Newly formed (sub)Project Argentina as part of Project LatinAmerica is currently reviewing our notables, we'll be happy to help and collaborate in any way we can, maybe adding a bio, other categories, etc.

Hello! I wanted to suggest 2 changes for this profile, first, it's name. Pope's name is Jorge Marío Bergoglio, not Francis also the categories Argentina, Notables and Buenos Aires (Province), Argentina should be added too

I see at this profile the observation that "Wikipedia is not a reliable source..." Might i suggest consulting and citing as a reliable source "l'Annuario Pontificio"? Francis' baptismal name is "Jorge" ("George"); "Franciscus" ("Francis", in English) is his present name in religion.

Both Pope Francis and Pope John Paul II have their profiles set up the same was with their papal name as their preferred name. I’m not sure why they display differently.

I believe names should be standarized for popes. Karol Józef (Pope Saint John Paul II) "Lolek, the Great" Wojtyla is a good example - name chosen when elected should be set as preferred name while Proper First Name should be Jorge.

"Pope Francis Bergoglio" makes no sense to me.

I agree. "Jorge Mario" is his given name, "Pope Francis" or "Franciscus Pontifex" (latin is the official language of the Vatican) is his religious name.

This appears to be a limitation of the rules (coding) for public/private profiles for Living Notables - normally the Preferred Name and the LNAB are shown.

For popes this obviously results in some weird collisions, which is why John Paul II looks normal to you - his profile has been fully unlocked after death, showing all the intricacies of his names.
