Biography

Charlie Bentley is a part of US Black heritage.

Charlie was born about 1922. He is the son of Daniel Bentley and Leola Woodward.

In the 1930 census Charlie (age 8) was the son of Dan Bentley on Fulton St, Yatesville, Upson, Georgia, United States.^[1]

In the 1940 census Charlie (age 18), Laborer, was the single son of Liola Beatley [sic] in Yatesville, Upson, Georgia.^[2]

Charlie registered for the WWII draft on 30 June 1942. He listed his mother as next of kin.^[3]

Charlie passed away in 1983. Burial was in the Jim Brice Cemetery, Culloden, Monroe County, Georgia. His grave is inscribed: U S ARMY WORLD WAR II.^[4]
