Elizabeth Benedict was born in Danbury, Fairfield County, Connecticut Colony in about 1706. She was the daughter of Thomas Benedict and Elizabeth Hickock.
Elizabeth married [Unknown] Fitch, possibly in about 1722. He died by the end of 1723. It is not known whether there were any surviving children from this marriage.
Elizabeth's second husband was Ebenezer Knapp. They were married in Greenwich, Connecticut Colony on 7 Jan 1724.
Elizabeth (Benedict) Fitch Knapp died in Norfolk, Litchfield County, Connecticut on 11 Feb 1795. She was buried in the Canaan Valley Cemetery in North Canaan, Litchfield County, Connecticut.[1]
There were 2 Ebenezer Knapps in Greenwich / Danbury, Connecticut area who married women named Elizabeth Finch. They were NOT the same Ebenezer, nor the same Elizabeth.
His parents are Moses Knapp (profile C-12, pg 14) and Elizabeth Crissey.
Ebenezer married his 1st wife Miss Elizabeth Benedict Finch on Jan 7 1724. His 2nd wife was Elizabeth Smith, dau of Samuel Smith and Elizabeth Hickox.
Ebenezer died March 21, 1784 and is buried in Canaan Valley Cemetery, Norfolk, CT, according to the Knapp Genealogy book
