Biography

• Joseph Benedict was born in Norwalk, Connecticut. He had two sons and one daughter with his first wife Anne. Some sources appear to confuse his wife with that of his brother, Benedict-272. Her name was Anna St. John. Further research is needed to clarify this issue. Shortly after her death, he removed to Ridgefield,Fairfield County, ^[1] Connecticut, then married Mary Groom Pitman and they had four children together.
• Joseph was born about 1680 and was the son of John Benedict and Phoebe Gregory. He passed away between 1759, when he signed his will and 1761 when said will was probated. ^[2]
