The Mercury (Hobart, Tas. 1860 - 1954) 16 Dec 1869 THE ships Windward and Ethel were yesterday decked with flags in honour of the nuptials of Mr. Pearce, the eldest son of Mr Alderman Pearce, with Miss Ellen Bendall, of New Town. The consulate flag of France was hoisted at the office of Mr. W. Crosby, the French Consul, for the same reason, Mr. Pearce senior, being interested in various vessels with Mr. Crosby.
