Biography

Ignazia Benanti is a Corleone native resident, known from the records of two of her children. Her baptismal and matrimonial records have not yet been found. I estimate Ignazia is born around 1875, twenty years before her first known child.

Ignazia is married to Francesco Canali. They have at least two children, Pietra (c. 1895) and Filippo (1897).

Pietra dies at two years of age (b. 1895) on 5 February 1897.^[1]

Filippo is born 3 April 1897 and baptized two days later. His godparents are Vincenzo Grasso and Vincenza Raia, a married couple.^[2]
