Biography

Edith was born^[1] and baptised in 1887 in Branston, Lincolnshire, England. She was the daughter of Fred Bell and Mary Sharp.^[2] By 1891 the Bell family lived in Lincoln, Lincolnshire, where Edith's father was a grocer's drayman.^[3][4]

In 1907 Edith married George Stokes in Martin, Lincolnshire.^[5][6] The family lived in Bracebridge, Lincolnshire, in 1911. George was an insurance agent.^[7] By 1921 they lived in Lincoln.^[8][9]

George died in 1964 at the age of 82.^[10][11] Edith died in 1982.^[12][13]
