Biography

Alfred was born in 29 May 1895, to Louis Napoleon Bell and Mary J. Coyle, in Leominster, Worcester County, Massachusetts.^[1] Louis Napoleon and Mary J. Coyle had 5 known children: Arthur Francis (1883-1968), Louis Henry (1886-1898), Margaret Etta (1889-1977), Alfred Coyle, and Harold William (1897-1897).

1901 Apr 8 (6 y/o) - Alfred's father, Louis Napoleon Bell, dies in Leominster, Worcester, MA, of general paralysis.^[2]

1907 Dec 26 (12 y/o) - Alfred's mother, Mary (Coyle) Bell marries Curtis R. Schreiter, a piano maker, in Leominster, Worcester, MA.^[3]

1910 - In this U.S. census Alfred is enumerated in the household of his step-father Curtiss Schreiter, his mother Mary and his older sister Margaret Etta, at 163 Adams Street, Leominster. ^[4]

1920 - Alfred is found in Wyoming as a boarder in the household of Frank O. Anderson.^[5]

23 Jun 1924 (29 y/o) – Alfred and Agnes M. Joyce (28 y/o) marry in New Bedford, Bristol County, Massachusetts, at St. Lawrence [Roman Catholic] Church by Fr. John F. McKeon (110 Summer Street, New Bedford, MA).^[6]

1930 - The federal census lists Alfred, Agnes &daughter Jane Bell living in Leominster, Worcester, Massachusetts, at 178 Union Street, a home that they own. This may be a two-flat, as another family is also listed at this address as renters.^[7]

1940 - The Alfred C. Bell family is composed of wife Agnes, and childern Jane and Alfred Jr., living in Leominster, Worcester, Massachusetts, renting at 163 Adams Street. ^[8]

1950 - Alfred and wife Agnes are found in North Arlington, Bergen County, New Jersey, living at 123 Riverview Avenue.^[9]

He passed away on 28 May 1961, in Lauderdale by the Sea, Broward County, Florida. He is buried in Our Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery in North Lauderdale, Broward, Florida.^[10][11]
