Mayhew was born in 1746. He was the son of Eunice Mayhew.
Private, Capt. Robert Orr's co., Col. John Bailey's regt., which marched on the alarm of April 19, 1775; service 8 days; also Capt. Nathan Alden's co., under the command of Lieut. John Whitman, Col. Edward Mitchell's regt.; marched to Rhode Island on the alarm of December 8, 1776; service, 12 days.[1]
He passed away in 1778.
The will of Mayhew Belcher of Bridgewater, felt maker was dated 6 August 1778 and proved on 5 October 1778 in Plymouth. He mentions his brother Larson Belcher, a sister (but not by name), and his mother Eunice Belcher. His inventory was taken on 5 October 1778 in Bridgewater.[2]
