Biography

Enlisted as a soldier in the US Army Jan 6, 1942. At the time, he was 6' tall and weighed 174 lbs. He was listed as a high school graduate, and had a civilian classification as a cashier or roofer. But he later became a blacksmith, it would seem, with a shop at 42 Washington St in Douglas, MI Buried in Douglas Cemetery

Everett Bekken of the Saugatuck-Douglas area died at the age of 86 in Appledorn Living Center in Holland. Wife: Geraldine Bekken (d-1996).
