NOTE. This George Beilby cannot be George Beilby as they have different Census returns in 1841.
In 1841 George Beilby was retired and a widower aged 75, living at Paragon Place in Sculcoates. His son, Robert, still lived with him. [1] (For the 1841 Census persons over 15 had their age rounded down to the lower 5) [2] This gives George a possible year of birth 1760-1765 Robert 1790-1795 and Elizabeth 1810-1815. His death certificate suggests 1763. Once thought to have been the husband of Ann Briggs this is clearly not so as George and Ann Beilby were living in Nafferton in 1841.
George died at home on 26 January 1847 aged 83. His death certificate records ulcers of the legs and chronic gastritis. [3]
