Colin Elly Begg was born on 31st January 1917 in Mosman, New South Wales, Australia. He was the son of Colin Begg and Zadi Joseph. [1]

On 15th July 1942 Colin was commissioned into the Second Australian Imperial Force. He served as Intelligence Officer of 2/1st Australian Infantry Battalion during the Aitape-Wewak Campaign of early 1945 on New Guinea's northern coast. He was discharged on 22nd November 1945. [3]
He passed away, aged 67 years, in 1984 in New South Wales. [4]
