OBITUARY

Newspaper: The Waco News-Tribune (Waco, Texas)
Published: 28 Jan 1933, Saturday, Page 8
HILLSBORO, Jan. 27 --(Spl)--
Jud Beavers, 54, well known Hill county farmer and member of a pioneer Hill county family, was almost instantly killed at his home three miles west of Hillsboro about 1 o’clock Friday afternoon when the cultivator he was riding ran off a culvert and turned over on him.
Mr. Beavers was driving the team with the cultivator through a field on his farm, and as they were crossing a small culvert the cultivator ran too close to the edge and fell over into a ditch. Mr. Beavers sustained a severe head injury, which resulted in his death almost instantly. The team and upturned cultivator were found under the culvert.
Mr. Beavers was born in Mississippi and came to Texas with his parents when he was 3 years old, settling in the Abbott community, and had lived in Hill county continuously since. He is survived by his widow, one brother, Jack Beavers, and one sister, Mrs. Dave Glass, both of Hillsboro; also by seven children, as follows: Wayland and Glenn Beavers of Itasca, Weldon, Loraine, Raymond, Bernice and Neva Mae, all at home.
Funeral arrangements had not been completed late Friday afternoon, but will probably be held Saturday afternoon.
