Carl Beardslee Sr. is a descendant of the immigrants William Beardsley and Mary Harvie.

Carl Melverne Beardslee was born on 7 Sep 1921 in Wetano, Bradford, Pennsylvania, United States, son of Louis Henry Beardslee (1897 - 1985) and Nina M (Chandler) Beardslee (1899 - 1981).

His sister was Evelyn Clara (Beardslee) Hazelwood (1918 - 1994).

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps and served as a pilot during World War II, and was a prisoner of war, held in the Burma #5 Camp (Moulmein & Rangoon Jail). He received the Distinguished Flying Cross, Bronze Star, Purple Heart and Prisoner of War medals. ^[1][2][3]

Carl died on 5 Apr 1991 in Pinellas, Florida aged 69.
