Biography

Frederick Linwood Bean was born July 19, 1876, in Gilead, Maine, a son of Ralph Waldo Bean and Ella (Wheeler) Bean. By 1900, Frederick's family had moved to Castle Rock, Douglas county, Colorado, where he is found living with his parents on the United States Census. [1] "Fred" was a farmer at Castle Rock, Colorado and for many years was the Treasurer of Douglas county.

On October 30, 1900, in Sedalia, Douglas county, Colorado, Fred married Elizabeth Ellen Sobey, born May 6, 1881, in Denver, Colorado. Fred and Elizabeth became members of the LIttleton Episcopal Church. Children of Fred and Elizabeth are:

  • Ella Mildred Bean, born September 9, 1901, married Henry Harper Curtis, on October 12, 1921, at the Sedalia Episcopal Church
  • Hattie Elizabeth Bean, born May 31, 1904, married Kenneth Ross Curtis, on September 27, 1931
  • Ralph Sobey Bean, born August 27, 1906, died October 14, 1946, in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, married Maybelle Clare Ratcliff on June 9, 1933
  • Flora Estelle Bean, born August 18, 1912, married John Carroll Hier, on November 6, 1937, in Castle Rock, Colorado

Frederick died January 4, 1953, in Castle Rock, Colorado and is buried in the Bear Canon Cemetery, in Sedalia, Douglas county, Colorado. [2]
