[Note: Chandler Family text incorrectly speculates her as Alice/Annis Alcock, sister of George. Torrey incorrectly included this assumption in New England Marriages Prior to 1700. This has since been disproven, in sources within this bio, that correctly identify Annis/Agnes nee Bayford. See also: Agnes Alcock in: Anderson, R. C. Great Migration: Immigrants to New England, 1634-1635, Volume I, A-B, NEHGS, Boston, Massacusetts, 1999 p. 20 (Online database. AmericanAncestors.org. Biography

Agnes/Annis Bayford was baptized at Farnum, Essex Co., England on June 12, 1603, daughter of Francis and Johan Bayford.[1] [2] [3]

In the will of her father Francis, dated on June 9, 1614 and proved on December 3, 1622, Agnes was bequeathed L14 to be paid her by her brother Richard and L6 to be paid her by her brother John, after the decease of their mother Johan. [1]

She married first, William Chandler at Farnum on November 6, 1625, as his second wife. William was baptized at Bishops-Stortford, Co. Herts, on October. 12, 1595, son of Henry and Anne Chandler. [1]

William and Agnes/Annis, along with their four children, Thomas, Hannah, John and William, were the first of the Chandler immigrants to New England, arriving in 1637 and settling at Roxbury, Massachusetts. [1] [4][5] [6]

William's emigration was due to the teachings of Rev. John Eliot, the Puritan Minister known as 'The Apostle to the Indians.' [5]

William Chandler died at Roxbury on January 26, 1641/2. [1] [7] [5]

Agnes married second on July 2, 1643 at Roxbury, John Dane of Ipswich and Roxbury, as his second wife. [1] John was born at Barkhamstead, England, about 1587, and came first to Roxbury about 1638. [4] [5]

On October 19, 1649, at the General Court at Boston, in answer to the September petition of John Dane, the court settled the house and land of William Chandler, deceased, the house and land which was William Chandler's was settled on John Dane 'ye said Dayne, having paid more debts of Chandler than ye house and land was worth & also brought up ye children of Chandler which have been chargeable to him. [Records of the Colony of Massachusetts Bay: Vol. 2: p. 83: Vol. 3P. 177] [4] [1] [5]

John Dane was buried at Roxbury on September 14, 1658. [1] [7] In his will written of September 7, 1658, he left bequests to the children of his first marriage, and made his wife Anic, sole exectutrix. [8] [5]

She married thirdly on August 9, 1660 at Roxbury, Deacon John Parminter [7], then of Sudbury, Massachusetts and later of Roxbury. [1] John Parminter/Parmenter was born in England about 1588, son of William and Margery (Garrold) Parmenter. [2] [9]

John Parminter died at the age of 83 years Roxbury on May 1, 1671. [7][1]

Widow Agnes died there on March 15, 1682/3. [7] [1] [5]

It is noted on findagrave, that she is buried in the South Church Cemetery, Andover, Massachusetts, however that cemetery was established in 1709, with the first recorded burial in 1710. [10] [11]

Alcock-396 and Bayford-10 do not represent the same person because: Annis Alcock, sister of George Alcock did exist. She is not the same person as Annis Bayford Chandler Dane Parminter. All the husband's on Alcock's profile need removal.

Alcock-396 and Bayford-10 appear to represent the same person because: Published research shows the correct LNAB is Bayford.

Chandler-167 and Bayford-10 appear to represent the same person because: This profile as formally made a daughter of William and Annis Chandler, but they did not have a daughter Annis. From the name and death date it is clear this profile was actually meant to be the wife of William Chandler. Merging into Agnes/Annis Bayford to correct error.

I cannot find a book about Salem Witchcraft by Torrey?

There was evidently an accusation that John Dane and Agnes Annis Chandler were "too close" and had "done in" their respective spouses. See: Salem Witchcraft, pp. 224-225; Author: Torrey, Clarence Almon.

Alcock-396 and Bayford-10 do not represent the same person because: Annis Alcock was supposedly the sister of George Alcock, and not the same woman as Annis Bayford. She should be disconnected as the wife of William Chandler, John Dane and John Parmenter.

Bayford-14 and Bayford-10 appear to represent the same person because: name matches, birth dates and place match, parents match, marriages match, dates and place of death match This is certainly the same person, the goal of WikiTree is one profile per person.
