Biography

Charles Samuel Bavier was born on 4 March 1850, in New Jersey, United States. His father, William Bavier, was 35 and his mother, Maria A Fitzgerald, was 30.

  • He married Agnes in 1883. They were the parents of at least 1 daughter.
  • He was next married in 1885 to Margaret Mary Salters Bavier(1867–1898).[1] They were the parents of at least 1 son and 1 daughter.
  • After that marriage ended, he married again in 1902 to Mary Birmingham Bavier (1867–1920) They were parents of at least 2 daughters, one who died in infancy and one who bacame a notable actress. His daughter, Francis, was an actress who is best remembered for her roll as Aunt Bee in the television series: The Andy Griffith Show.
