Biography
Johann was born in 1820 in the Kingdom of Württemberg (German Confederation), the oldest child of Johanes George Bausch and Anna Schmid.
He married Anna Regina Herrlinger in 1848 in Großsüßen, Geislingen, Württemberg, Deutschland. They had several children, including several who died young. Only Ana (b. 1850) and George (b. 1855) appear to have lived to adulthood.
He probably emigrated to the United States between 1874 and 1875 (his daughter was married in 1874 in Württemberg), and anglicized his name to John at times. He worked for the family business started by his brother Johann Jakob, which would come to be known as Bausch & Lomb.
He died about 1886.
