Ruby Mae Bauman was born on June 27, 1922 in Draper Township, Jones, South Dakota, United States.

Ruby (20) married Earl Larsen Alertson (38) (born on March 2, 1905 in Grinnell, Poweshiek) on June 24, 1943 in Lancaster, Schuyler. Their son was Kenneth Earl Alertson (1949–1972).

Ruby (42) married Floyd Alvis Cowman (48) (born on February 16, 1917 in Swan, Marion, Iowa, USA; son of William Franklin Cowman and Nettie Elizabeth (Sanders) Cowman) on June 24, 1965 in Lancaster, Schuyler, Missouri, USA.

Ruby died on September 18, 2016 in Malcom, Poweshiek, Iowa, United States, aged 94. She was buried in Ivy Hill Cemetery.^[1]
