James Dewey Baucom was born in 25 December 1899. He was the son of James T C Baucom[1] and Laura (Smith) Baucom.[2]

He and Dora Lee Isenhour Ridenhour, daughter of George Richard Isenhour and Laura G (Lowder) Isenhour and widow of Paul Ridenhour, were married about 1927. Family lore says the wedding took place on 2 February 1927.[3] They were enumerated as a couple in the 1930 Census living in Badin town, Albemarle township, Stanly County, North Carolina. In addition to Dora's daughters, there is an infant daughter less than a year old. They are living in a rented home on Badin Road which costs them $12/month. Dewey is employed as an Electric Operator at an Aluminum Plant.[4]

He passed away on 15 December 1961 at his home in Badin, Stanly County, North Carolina. He was buried at Fairview Memorial Park, Albemarle, Stanly County, North Carolina, under the direction of Stanly Funeral Home of Albemarle. [2]
