He married Mary Emmaline Hopkins on 29 April 1866, in Auroraville, Waushara, Wisconsin, United States. They were the parents of at least 1 daughter. He lived in Rock, Minnesota, United States in 1870 and United States in 1900. He registered for military service in 1905. He died on 14 January 1912, in South Bend, St. Joseph, Indiana, United States, at the age of 77, and was buried in South Bend, St. Joseph, Indiana, United States.
