Morris was born in 1839. He served as a private in the 17th Regiment, US Colored Troops.

In the 1860 census Morris (age 20) was in Bonhomme, St. Louis, Missouri.[1]

He married Mary Jane Martin in 1863.[2]

In 1864,he was in the Military. [3][4]


Morris died 29 Mar 1878.[5][6]
