Mary D Barton was born 1841 in Illinois to John Barton and Mary Reid. She married William Hamilton July 31, 1862 in Macoupin, Illinois[1] and they had 8 or 9 children together (see notes). Mary died February 25, 1890 in Raymond, Illinois(unsourced death date and place, information gathered from Ancestry family trees).
Notes
The birthplace, Illinois, is assumed because the 1850, 60 and 80 Census's all give Illinois as Mary's birthplace. Only the 1870 census says it is Wisconsin. Also since Mary's parents were married in Illinois in 1929 I think Illinois is more likely to be correct.
There was possibly another child, Mabel, born in 1870 but I haven't found any sources to substantiate that. Jane and Mabel may be the same person.
