Biography

Thomas John Barton was born on 30 April 1836 in Cromhall, Gloucestershire, England, the son of Eliza Barton and William Barton.^{[citation needed]}

Thomas came to Australia with his mother and his siblings in 1852 on the "Surry".^[1]

He married Selina Croker on 28 December 1865 in Heidelberg, Victoria.^[2] Their children were:
