Hi Steve Bartlett from South Australia

Maryann from Queensland here :) Thanks for your message.

You can export a GEDCOM from My Heritage then import the GEDCOM into WikiTree. Here's are Help pages which explain the process at WikiTree:

If you have any questions about your GEDCOM or our process, you can contact our GEDCOM Manager for assistance.

Here's the link to My Heritage's Help to export a GEDCOM file of my family tree.

Good luck and please let me know if I can assist you further,

Maryann

Hi Stephen, and welcome to WikiTree! You mentioned yourancestors in England. I wanted to let you know we have a great project that focuses on the UK here called United Kingdom Project It would be a great place for you to get involved once you have settled into WikiTree.

You may find some of your ancestors are already on WikiTree and the people in the United Kingdom Project will be happy to help you in any way they can.

Thank you so much for joining WikiTree. Good luck with your research in 2015.

And then I got nosey! Having come across the Ribouleau name amongst your antecedents I realised that I had come across it before in reference to Huguenots. I have only done a cursory bit of work but I am reasonably certain that side is descended from Estienne Ribouleau(not Étienne, the redaction of the s by the é was not universal at that time). He arrived before April 1689 when he married Anne Boisnie in London. The name Estienne becomes Stephen and recurs throughout generations making our work quite tough. However, without any shadow of doubt you are descended from the great Huguenot diaspora of the late seventeenth century.

Stephen, you're doing a great job entering Bartletts. If you can edit the profiles as you put them in then it saves you a mammoth task later on. (So speaks bad experience!). I'm guessing you may not have done any ydna testing. If not you may like to look at ftdna.com.

Also what links are back to the UK? What knowledge do you have of these. Maybe if you edit the profiles then this may become self evident. In the meantime if you would like any help please feel free to contact me. Stephen Bartlett (Steve) Bartlett-3702

Feel free to check out How To Use WikiTree. It's a great step-by-step guide.

Also Help Index with links to topics you may have questions on. Don't forget our G2G Forum where many of our generous members help each other out.

And of course, I'm here to help in any way I’m able. Just ask!

Hi, I am Steve Bartlett, I live in South Australia and I am retired from work. I volunteer at a marine rescue unit and that keeps me busy. I started this tree to search out my wife and my family roots both in England and Europe and am certainly looking forward to see where this goes.
