The son of Julius Delano Bartlett and Alma J. (Stevens) Bartlett. He married Leona Ruth Royall 25 Nov. 1926 in El Paso, TX. They had two sons, Royall Delano Bartlett who died at 5 days old on 5 Jan. 1931, and Duane Bartlett McDaniel. Leona and Bart were divorced early.

Bart married (2nd) before 1836 to Margaret Grace McCormack Naylor. Two children had been born to Grace in her first marriage to James Lloyd Naylor: Lillian Ann Bartlett whom he later adopted, and James Lloyd Naylor, Jr. (James Lloyd Naylor, Jr. changed his name to Lloyd Naylor Bartlett before joining the Navy at age 17).

Bart served in WWI and was called back to duty in 1940. He was sent to the Phillippines to serve with MacArthur. He was there when Pearl Harbor was bombed. In early 1942, he was captured by the Japanese and was a prisoner of war in Japan for 3-1/2 years.

Bart and Grace were divorced in the early 1960's. Grace died in 1967-68 in Ft. Worth, Texas.^[1]
