Irene (Barta) Rubinstein Murdered at Sobibór

was born in 1885.

Irene was married to Bernhard Rubinstein. She lived at 50 Rue de La Rochefoucauld, Paris 9 ͤ, Paris,France before the war. She was arrested and taken to Drancy arriving on 23/03/1943.

She was deported on the 901 train that departed from the Le Bourget Drancy Railway station At 10:30 am on March 25, 1943, toward Sobibór extermination camp on convoi N°53. They stopped the train near a factory and three men trying to escape were shot, twenty minutes later they started the train again. At Frankfurt Main the transport stopped again on the early morning of the 26 March. Two Jews were arrested trying to escape through the floor. The train resumed its route to Sobibór. Upon arrival all except 15 men were gassed.

Irene(Barta) Rubinstein was killed after 27 March 1943 at Sobibór, age 57.
