Biography
Elizabeth Barry was born probably in the region around Bideford in North Devon about 1750. On 20 May 1770, she married Salathiel Bale at Alwington in Devon. Both Elizabeth and Salathiel were described as sojourners in the parish on the marriage record.
She had two children. John, baptised in Alwington in 1772, and Mary, who was baptised 29 January 1775, also at Alwington, after her mother's death.
Elizabeth died in December 1774 and was buried on 17 Dec 1774, at Alwington. In her burial record, she is described as Elizabeth Bale, wife of Salathiel Bale Jnr.
