Jonathan was born in 1769. Jonathan Barrett was the son of Benjamin Barrett and Eleanor Rogers. He passed away in 1846. Jonathan Barrett died at the age of 77 and is buried in the Fairfield Cemetery, Highland Co., Ohio

"In 1805 Jonathan Barrett, from VA, bought out Nathaniel Pope, on Hardin's Creek and settled there. His brother Richard, and his brother-in-law Henry Cowgill, came with him. Richard settled on Fall Creek, near the farm known as the old Fairley Place, Cowgill settled in the same neighborhood." "Oct 1808-Richard Barrett elected clerk for Board of Com-missioners."
