Elizabeth Ann Barker was born July 28, 1776 in Guisborough, Yorkshire England, the daughter of William Barker and Mary Robson. She married George Ward and they emmigrated to Upper Canada sometime between 1821-1823. They settled in the new township of Toronto Gore (today this is in Brampton, Ontario). She died March 19, 1844 in Toronto Gore and she is buried in Woodhill Cemetery (in today's georgraphy, just to the south of the intersection of Airport Road and Queen Street in Brampton).
