Historical Abstract

" For the second year, the castle of the Roche-Tinard will open to the public Sunday, September 16 on the occasion of the Heritage Days. Pierre Doré, former mayor of Plessis-Grammoire and historian, has done translation work in Old French, to rewrite the history of this house.

He conducted an extensive research work by exploiting deeds to know the different owners , collected the testimonies of people who knew the nuns who occupied the property during the war.

the first written mention in 1610, it was the lease Croft Roche-Tinard. The first known owner was Jean Barbot, Sieur du Martray and Roche Tinard. Born in 1566, he died in 1628. He was a lawyer, counselor grainetier the salt warehouse, and alderman of the city of Angers. It is also known by a section of Célestin Port. This is probably he who built this mansion. On the death of John Barbot, his daughter and son lived in the house.

After a series of divestitures, are the Franciscan Sisters of St. Mary of the Angels who become owners until 2008, a little over 110 years ." ^[4]
