Anthony Banks was born on April 08, 1942 in Belfast, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom.[1].

He married Sally Jones who became Lady Stratford when he became a Baron[citation needed].

He died on January 08, 2006 in Fort Myers, Lee, Florida, United States having suffered a stroke on the 6th[2]

He was cremated .on 21 January 2006 at the City of London Crematorium[3].

While an MP he also played a bit part of Man in bookshop in the 1994 film Solitaire for 2. He has an entry on IMDB and also featured as himself in 2 episodes of Roy & H.G.'s Planet Norwich a TV Series from 1998 and in the news program The London Program which ran from 1974 to 2008.[4].

Final years

He announced on 23 November 2004,that he would not stand at the next election. He made his final speech in the House of Commons on On 24 March 2005. On 13 May 2005 his peerage was announced which was published in the London Gazette on 23 June 2005. The peerage was granted as Baron Stratford, of Stratford in the London Borough of Newham[5].

While on holiday in Florida he suffered an hemorrhagic stroke during lunch on Sanibel Island. He was flown by helicopter to a hospital in nearby Fort Myers where he died on 8 January without regaining consciousness.
