Originally Elizabeth was baptised at the Independent/Congregational Church at Upper Gornal as an infant and then she was baptised again as an adult many years later. The 2nd baptism was as a 58 year old widow of Lake Street on 16th Mar 1888 at St James's Church, Lower Gornal, Staffordshire, England.
In 1861 she is shown living with a boarder Anne Ball on the census. This is her step-sister.
