Erma Edna Bailey was born on May 14, 1893 in Bashan, Meigs, Ohio, United States.

Erma (18) married James Conners McKay (20) (born on July 23, 1891 in Chester, Meigs) on October 27, 1911 in Meigs. [1]

In the 1900 census Erma (age 7) was the daughter of James Baily in Racine, Sutton Township, Meigs, Ohio, United States.[2] James Baily 42, wife Adaline S Baily 44, son Thomas Baily 20, daughter Pearl Baily 17, daughter Erma E Baily 7, daughter Myrtle B Baily 2.

In the 1910 census Erma (age 16) was the single daughter of J Frank Bailey in Sutton, Meigs, Ohio, United States.[3] J Frank Bailey 51, wife Adaline Bailey 53, daughter Erma E Bailey 16, daughter Myrtle B Bailey 11.

In the 1920 census Erma (age 26) was the wife of James C McKay in Meigs, Ohio, United States.[4] James C McKay 28, wife Erma E McKay 26, son Thomas D McKay 6.

In the 1930 census Erma (age 36) was the widowed head of household in Pomeroy, Meigs, Ohio, United States.[5] Erma Mc Kay 36, son Thomas Mc Kay 16.

In the 1940 census Erma (age 46) was the divorced mother of Thomas O McKay in Middleport, Salisbury Township, Meigs, Ohio, United States.[6] Thomas O McKay 26, mother Erma McKay 46, lodger Charles Kessinger 30, lodger Irene Kessinger 20.

Erma died on September 6, 1965 in Bashan, aged 72. She was buried in Sutton Cemetery, Long Bottom, Ohio.[7][8]
