Biography

David George Badgery was born on 21st October 1923 at Yass, New South Wales, Australia. He was the older son of Malcolm Badgery and Mary Emily Moore.

David Badgery was Killed in Action during World War II.

David served in the Royal Australian Air Force during the Second World War; enlisted 20th July 1942.[1] He was a member of 226 Squadron (Royal Air Force) which was equiped with Douglas Havoc, Douglas Boston and North American Mitchell medium bombers. David was killed in action when his plane was shot down in a flying battle over the English Channel on 19th June 1944; two weeks after D Day.[2][3] His memorial is at Runnymede Memorial, Surrey, England.[4] David's name is located at panel 118 in the Commemorative Area at the Australian War Memorial.
