Biography

Mixed reports are found about the identity of the father of the immigrant brothers Henry, Joseph, and John. Several published sources report the father was possibly Mark Bachelor; other family files have reported the father was a Daniel Bachelor.

While the records should be more fully presented here, it seems that of the three known brothers, birth/baptismal records have not been identified about all.

Marriage and Children

Married: Mary (____) Fantinge by a marriage license dated 30 October 1598 in Canterbury, Kent, England.[1] The marriage license indicates that she was a widow, so her LNAB was not Fantinge.
Children of Mark Bachelor and Mary Unknown:
  1. Mark Bachelor. Baptized on 7 October 1599 at St. John parish in Margate, Kent, England.[2]
  2. Henry Bachelor. Baptized on 14 March 1601/2 at St. John parish in Margate, Kent, England.
  3. George Bachelor. Baptized on 14 March 1601/2 at St. John parish in Margate, Kent, England.[3] What is going on here?
  4. Joseph Bachelor. Baptized on 7 October 1604 at St. John parish in Margate, Kent, England.[4]

Daniel, what is the source for the first name Mark and the two wives? As of last fall, his given name was not known, much less the names of any wives.

As I revisted this profile I noticed he was changed from Unknown to Mark. There is a reason he was Unknown. He is here to hold the bothers together. But his given name really is Unknown. There is way to much speculation to choose one name. Would you kindly change his first names back to Unknown
