Biography

Marie Victoire Babin was an exiled Acadian born at sea aboard the ship La Dorothee during the crossing from England to St. Malo, France on May 19, 1763. At the end of the Seven Years War, England was turning over all imprisoned Acadians to France. Her parents were Joseph Babin and Marine LeBlanc. [1][2]

She married Jacques Joseph Mermond 31 October 1784, Saint-Pierre, Saint-Pierre-et-Miqueloon. "Le trente et un octobre 1784 après la publication d'un ban... Dispense de deux autres bans...[3]
